Studying part time through Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen whilst juggling a full time job and family commitments is no mean feat, so Lee is rightly delighted to have completed his studies. Having recently attended the graduation ceremony, Lee had this to say:
"I have recently completed my studies at Robert Gordon University, where I was awarded an MBA with Distinction. I would like to thank everyone at AIS who assisted me on this journey, whether it was participating in interviews as part of my assessments, giving advice on work that I had completed, or simply listening to me moan about how busy I have been!
As well as expanding on my existing knowledge, the MBA allowed me to learn about business topics that I had not covered during my career, finance and accounting, economics, strategy, human resources etc. During these topics I got to spend time with other departments within AIS that are usually outside my remit. It was interesting to learn about other people’s roles within the company, and what makes each department so successful. Thank you to those departments that I spoke to at various points and took the time out to teach me. I have already started to implement things I have learnt during the course, and I am sure it will be a huge benefit to myself and AIS in the future as I can start to execute my ideas.
One of the main reasons I joined AIS back in 2020 was because of the company's strong commitment to staff development, with others having previously completed an MBA with the company. I was nominated for the Energy Industry Council’s Rising Star award later that year and the EIC together with AIS funded my place."
Congratulations again, Lee, or should we say... Lee Parnaby, MBA.
